Sport Karate East is affiliated to the Sport Karate Sakai Association, this association in turn is a full member of the Scottish Karate Governing Body.
Scottish Karate Governing Body The Scottish Karate Governing Body (SKGB) is made up of the various Karate associations in Scotland. Their goals are, among others, to standardise Karate coaching in Scotland, to increase Scottish rankings in the European Karate Federation (EKF) and the World Karate Federation (WKF) and also to improve the standard of Karate referees and officials within Scotland. The SKGB are the only karate governing body recognised by Sportscotland.

Shitoryu Karate Do Cyber Academy The Shito-ryu Karate Cyber Academy provides invaluable information in relation to Shito-ryu and Shukokai Karate. The Shito-ryu style originated from an Okinawan contemporary of Funakoshi, named Kenwa Mabuni. It uses both straight-line and circular movements. Its training syllabus contains the largest number of katas of any style. The Shukokai curriculum was developed from Mabuni’s Shito-ryu style by his senior student, Chojiro Tani. It contains many interesting ideas about power development.
